Is Seoul expensive to travel to, even if I stay in hostels and eat at 7-eleven? How are the clubs there? And do people in Seoul really place a big emphasis on physical appearance?
I don’t know why anyone would ever eat at 7-11 when they’re in Korea. I always come back a couple of pounds heavier after each trip - you just can’t say no to food there… gahdghawdsh

Like everything else, it really depends on where and when. Flight itself can be expensive, especially if you try to book during hot season (May-September ish). I don’t know how much hostels run, but I’m sure it depends on the location as well. I don’t go clubbing so I have no idea. Certain neighborhoods of Seoul have bigger emphasis on one’s aesthetic than others - Gangnam is one of them, since the shopping scene there is high-end and people want to look presentable for such shops.

If you want to travel to Seoul on a budget, book your inbound/outbound flights on either Tuesday or Wednesday. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on hostels/hotels, look for places outside of Seoul. Suwon is a great one since it’s only a few train stops (or about half an hour bus ride) away. Think of it like going to West Village from Brooklyn. It’s not bad.

Assuming it’s spring

Floral dress // fitted cardigan // skinny belt // flats

Minimal print sweater // light wash skinny jeans // colored oxfords

Oversized/boxy v-neck sweater // pleated A-line skirt (front tuck the sweater in) // simple pumps/heels

Lace dress // (shoes… I don’t know. I’m thinking these)

Keep your hair, accessories/jewelry, and make-up simple. The guy’s parents aren’t there to look at how well you can “decorate” yourself.

Do you get your tops from Madewell tailored? I went in to get their jeans (thanks for the recommendation!) and a denim shirt, and even in XS I looked like an elephant was swimming in my clothes - I'm nearly 2x your size.
I don’t get any of my tops tailored. I do this though: soak your shirt in water, put it in the dryer, shrink it maybe half a size-one whole size, take it out, wear it right away so the shirt changes its shape to fit your body. Hang dry after each wash.

You also need to look out for different styles and cuts Madewell offers. Their ex-boyfriend shirts are shorter and somewhat fitted, when boyfriend shirts make you look like you just went through your older brother’s closet. Their classic shirts (ex. ocbd) are quite flattering when worn in the right size though.

From here I would like to assume a few things about you: male, early 20’s, can be found wearing basketball jerseys at local bars on weekends, favorite word: bro. I do not know why, but you seem like the type of guy who would go to EDM shows with girls in nothing but a training bra and oversized furry boots that can be found at EDC or UMF. You probably go to those things, too. Do you scream “SUP, BRAH!?!!!” at cameras when you get your pictures taken?

Really, I am doing well. I am about to run my last errand of the day, but I must finish this tea I just made. I got hooked on peach tea while I was in Japan and man, it is quite phenomenal. Have you ever had it? You should try some - I would share my cup with you; however, I do not trust strangers.

Speaking of doing well, I got a new wallet today. Like, an actual wallet that I haven’t had in about four years. I now feel like a legit 20-something year old ~~female~~ ~~woman~~ human being.
